440C stainless steel

440C is one kind of martensitic stainless steel, with high carbon and high chromium. Carbon is 1% and Chromium is 17%.

Application: use to produce bearing parts used in environment of corrosion, unlubricated and strongly oxidizing. 440C is with good stable property under high temperature and can be used as bearing parts under corrosion and high temperature. And it is also can be used as knives, such as surgical knife, scissors, nuzzle. 440C stainless steel is not good at bearing moving load.

440C stainless steel with best hardness among all kind of stainless steel and refractory steel. 440F is the one enhance the easy cutting property of 440C. Martensitic stainless steel also can enhance hardness by annealing. So the mechanical property range can be larger by choosing material grade and heating processing.
